Which alternator do i have ?

1986 ranger 2wd , 4 cyl. ,with factory a/c.
My question is how can I tell which amp alternator I have. How can I tell if its a 40, 60 , or 80 amp ?

1986 only went up to 65amp

Not sure you can tell what you have, power group(power windows and door locks) would have highest amps
AC doesn't use more electricity, blower fan is the same with AC or without

I may be wrong, but thought that the capacity was encoded or plain in the serial number/part number/model number string stamped into the body. On one of the flat surfaces, there should be numbers indicating capacity. This applied to the older models at least, not sure about the rounded looking ones.
