I'm going to be doing a v8 swap in a 98 and up ranger.. Been trying to find out which trans can be used? Will a stock foxbody 5.0 work or like a tko 5 speed? Motor will be a 331 AND on the bottle. Also if you manual snappers have a part number for the clutch master would be good. Seen some were using a 280z ? Which year?

I like the M-7003-Z Super Duty World Class T5. $1695.00 brand new and it has the best of everything as far as a T5 goes. I know! A bunch of people will jump in and recommend a stronger Tremec, but the Z spec is a good unit and has advantages with light weight, size, and parts availability. I have over 300,000 miles on these units and feel they make a very good street/light strip option.

I have ran the WC trans with real good luck! Had one behind my blown and methanol injected coupe and was flawless! Powershifted every time I ran that car, WOT! I don't even know how many passes I made and how much abuse I put that trans through and it kept on ticking! Just wasn't sure if people were using those , seems they were getting a truck trans and that will not work for what I need it for. Thanks!

Yep WC-T5 here on my supercharged 347, the week link is tire spin, saves drive line

I'll have to read up on your build GSP.. good to know that the Wc can be a bolt in in these trucks.

Tire spin def keeps the drive line intact...once u start hooking hard...ish is bout to break for sure..let it be a drive shaft u joint if anything ;)

I can get 23 MPG with the close ratio z spec WC T5. That is running a 306 with 3.55's. The 2.95 1st and .63 5th gear is a great combination when paired with 3.55's or even 3.73's.
