I have a 93, 4.0. Just replaced the head gasket and getting ready to fire it up for the first time (truck is new to me). Could you please let me know where the ECU is so I can see if I'm getting any error codes?

Thanks a bunch!

the PCM is behind the passenger side kick panel...but you dont need to access it to pull error codes.

the OBD connector is located in the engine compartment, on the drivers side near the power distribution box.

Nope - not behind the kick panel - on the 93's, it's in the firewall, driver's side, under the brake booster.

No need to access the PCM - as stated, there's a 5 pin connector right next to the power box.

maybe its different depending on reg cab or supercab or 2 or 4 wheel drive, i think mine is behind my kick panel but never had to check

Is there a blinking LED or something similar to see the codes? I don't have a code reader.

Thanks!

Acording to the 93 and 94 EVTM's for ALL Ranger chassis, the PCMs are all mounted into the driver's side firewall - have you actually looked behind the passenger kick panel - the earlier models (pre-93) had it there.
