Hey Guys,
We are in the middle of a 302 transplant into my old '91 Ranger Supercab 4x4 that was originally 4.0 and 5 speed.
We are ready(we think) to mount the motor...does anyone have a good measurement of where to nail the Mustang motor mounts down to the frame?
(I have a pic of the frame/ motor...but can't get it here)? :icon_confused: Below....

Also, we are using the in tank fuel pump...so, where do I mount the fuel pressure regulator..do I plumb in the original return line or just cap it off and deadhead the pump to the regulator?

Sorry if these answers are already in here somewhere...I have been digging around for months...just haven't found the info.

We are using a '97 M5r2 tranny...and haven't quite worked out the pulleys/ accessories yet, but want to run a serpentine belt.
My idea was to pull all the stuff off the front of an Explorere 5.0...but from what I read that ain't a good option?

I say we...cause this is my 16yr old's idea....his first truck...and my big headache!

Thanks,
EB

Those Explorer "headers" are really gonna choke the 302 down...but maybe not a bad thing for a 16yr old's first truck?

Also, do you think the 4.0 starter will spin the 302?
It really looks like it is going to fit...just don't know if it has enough torque?
'87 Carbed 302 from a 2wheel drive F150 with Edelbrocko RPM intake and Holley 4bbl, mated to a '97 M5r2 from a 4.2L f150 4x4, 157tooth flywheel.

Thanks,
Ernie

4.0 starter don't fit 5.0

My mind went somewhere else completely when I read the title of this thread.

As for the Explorer 5.0 FEAD, I thought that was pretty much the only option for putting a 5.0 into a Ranger?
