Where to get gears?

I have a stock 05 Edge 3.0 and was wanting a little more get up and go. There is not much for the 3.0 and heard/read regearing is the way to go. Where can I get a set of 4.10 gears and how difficult is it to do yourself? Thanks.

AmericanMuscle.com has free shipping on gears and install kits. About $240 for 4.10 and master install kit with bearings. My Ranger is getting re geared soon and I have looked into doing it myself but it seems like a lot of precise work which is why I am not doing it. I got an estimate yesterday for $450.

wow man thats cheep, every douchebag ive ever talked to about regearing for me quoted me at like 1400-1600 gears and instal kit included... which is just nonsense. mynes 4wd, but yours is still a better deal! lol

That was the price with me supplying the gears and install kit. Im not sure how much it would have gone up with them getting parts. I got another estimate today for $500.

if you take your time and are percise and patient, its no where near the difficulty that everyone makes it out to be when setting up gears. I did both axles on my ranger and 20K later they both work perfect, no complaints, I just couldn't see myself paying that much to have some goone screwing with my shit. Just pay attention to the shims( both pinion and carrier) backlash, tooth contact pattern and the pinion bearing preload and you golden. I honestly do not think its very hard at all. Good luck
