where to find an adapter

Right now my truck has the 4-pole flat plug for trailer lights but I need to pull a trailer with the 7 way rv plug. All the stores around here that i have checked only have the hopkins multitow for the 6way and 5way. I dont need anything that sophisticated and since i only need to tow this thing once and it is almost $30. Anyone know where I might find just a simple 4 pole flat to 7way rv adapter?

the 4 wire only does turn signals, brakes, and taillights. The 7 round does all those plus electric brakes, and a charging line. You can get an adapter(i have one) but it won't work until you run wires for a brake controller and charging. Sounds like maybe you should just find another tow vehicle, cuz yours isn't set up with what is needed.. what kind of trailer is it??

The seven pin adds trailer brakes, trailler house battery charging wire and an auxillary which could be used for anything--back-up lights, intercom between truck and trailer for passengers in states where that's allowed.

You'll find what you need here. But as was pointed out, you won't have trailer brakes unless you have a brake controller installed in the cab and the adapter wired to it.

Thanks for the help. I dont need the trailer brakes and the trailer doesnt have them anyway. I'm not sure why it even has the 7 plug. It is just a 4x8 utility trailer and if it needs trailer brakes, i probably cant tow it with the 3.0

Yepp. Meant trailer brakes. I have a 4 to 7 adapter it has a pigtail out the back that I plugged into the 4 from my truck, and then ran the other wires and such. That would prolly work for ya'. It ran me about $30 with a mounting bracket.

ive got the reverse of that, dads bronco is set up with the 7-pin and we made a adaptor that goes to the "flat-4" i know they make molded adaptors now for that, but at the time there wernt any. we just took two plugs and wired them together.
