A properly suspensioned Ranger can be safely airborne for up to 4 seconds at a time! =:O
There's a WHOLE lotta vacuum lines in Ye Olde Rangers, in many sizes, controlling everything from the infamous PVH front hubs, to the fuel modulator overflow(?) thingy, to the heater core cutoff valve (which blocks coolant flow when on MAX A/C), to the...

... and mine are plumb DRYING OUT and CRACKING...

Non-dealer parts stores are like :dunno:

So must I go to FoMoCo, and what do I ask for? What are the SIZES, Ratings, etc.??

THANKS in advance.

Pretty much any parts store should sell various diameters of vacuum line by the foot. They also sell connectors/tees/elbows/etc to join everything if you need to.

^That^.

When I removed the 2.9 from my 87 there wasn't an original vacuum line on it. There wasn't much in the way of hard line on it either.

OK, sounds like time to avoid the chain stores and seek out a possible remaining "Mom & Pop" parts shop. (or... JEGS??)

I guess with the hoses actually leaking, no harm removing them for exact size matching.

Thanks... on it... this weekend.

-Any- decent auto parts store, including the chain shops, will have vacuum lines of varying sizes that you can purchase by the foot.

REALLY odd sizes you can source from a place such as john deere or other heavy equipment suppliers. I was able to find fuel line for my weed wacker there, but VERY PRICEY. Over a dollar per inch.

Or the good old napa or neighborhood race shop i buy my vacuum lines from the local truevalue hardware store or any small engine parts store will have fuel lines in the small vacume line sizes they hold up to heat well
