Where to Buy Gears (Canadian)

Yessir I am interested in them, PM with price (I'm assuming you mean the D35 gears that fit our Gen 3's). And I will also take your advice and check out the cities around here. I've ordered things from rockauto before and i had to pay no extra fees. Usually I have to pay something, brokerage taxes sumting. Anyways thanks for the advice and that awesome right up...when i finally get around to putting this stuff (its my only vehicle and i work daily, doubt i could put everything together in a night) I will prolly shoot you a PM. This stuff makes sense in theory to me but once I actually start taking stuff apart I learn what the deal is. Thanks guys!

What size tires are you running and what gears do you have now? Just curious....

33's (heavy ass toyo's) and 3.73's. On a good day with no wind on the highway there good. But when those conditions aren't happening (near always...) they suck, and literally suck the fuel back too

I'm around lanigan, hour from saskatoon, hour and a half ish from regina haha

Haha i did see that! When i looked on trs home page once it had the same pic as in the ad and i was like whoa whoa whoa! I've also seen pretty much the same truck as mine cruising in the city before. Blue, lifted, big tires etc. There's a few of us prairie boys. -Nathan- is also in saskatoon. If i ever need help with a project i know who to call haha

haha hells ya. i need to make a trip up there anyways, i havent had a fudruckers burger in too long, and i never got to go to the draggin show this year, thanks to school. def. hittin it up this year.
are you in regina much or is it kinda out there for you?
cause i get around but not as much as i'd like too...
also i have a friend who rolls his gmc newly finished project, and im sure next year once the snows gone he'll wanna head up there for some friday night action!

Haha, i rarely go to regina. Except for rider games! FTW! None this year regrettably...i sometimes head into the city and raise some hell. But i stay around lanigan quite a bit with work and such. My ranger usually plays around here. And I have a buddy who i 4x4 with who blew his engine (no comment...) and now we're trying to put a 350 in it...which will be...a learning experience to say the least haha. After that I'm good to go tho, cuz he's like my only wheeling bud, all my friends are either pansy's or drive cars.

the 8.8 isn't hard to build. My first one was on an explorer IFS front on the bench in school. It took about 3 hours, 1.5 yelling at my lab partner to get his ass back over and help me b/c I'd taken all my tools home for the semester and couldn't find anything in his box, another half messing with the S-spring b/c he didn't have a brass drift or any other soft punching type object, and then the last hour of that was b/c my lab partner put it together backwards in the 5 minutes i looked away and we had to do the whole thing over.

When we rebuild our 8.8 rear the next semester it took a bit longer, we pulled the bed off the truck to get better access ( I recommend if you don't have a lift) and then we broke my 3/4 ratchet and bent one of the school's breaker bars before determining that we had gotten the rare "un-crushable crush sleeves" for our pinion bearing pre-load. Replaced the sleeve and it went together PDQ, drove on out, seemed good. The only thing with that friction modifier, it reeks. I know a lot of rookies can't take the smell, so just prepare yourself for one of the worst smells in the world. Oh, and don't get it on your hands if you can avoid it, the smell stays on your skin for a week.

Haha thanks for the tip! And wow...I think my thoughts on how to do this may be off. I was thinking i would take out the entire rearend (disconnect driveshaft, suspension, brake lines, etc) then just have the hub to hub assembly to work on? But are you saying I should just leave everything together, take off he cover and go from there?

www.justjeeps.com they are in toronto, and they come highly recommended.

Are you on crack, Jerry is the owner there and he is the biggest rip off con artist I have ever met. Stay far away from this place!!!!

If you want to shop from a good place in the toronto Area contact Jim at Rock Sypder 4x4 or Howard at Overdrive Automotive (newmarket location)

However if you are looking for gears to be shipped I would suggest randy's ring and pinion, they are great to deal with and have very fair pricing.
