Where to buy exhaust?

I've known for a while that I needed to change my exhaust on my '84 because it was littered with holes. Well, on the way home today, it literally fell off the truck! I was able to wrap a ratchet strap that barely got me home as it almost melted through. I don't want to replace just the part that fell off (it broke just before the cat), I want to replace the whole thing as it's pretty bad.


I'm not looking for a performance upgrade. I'm looking for affordability. Any suggestions?

I just replaced muffler and tailpipe on my 87 BII. I know a bit newer, not sure how different from 84. Both were OEM fit. Couldn't find a standard exact fit muffler but was able to get a Walker "Sound FX" thru Autozone. I was worried it be loud or not have stock sound. It pretty much sounds like stock to me. Tailpipe I got on Advance auto from stock. Muffler was like $47 and tailpipe was $35 or something like that. Pretty darn cheap.

Looked at cat and a generic fit was like $64, but an OEM fit was up around $250. I didn't have to deal with the pipes forward so can't comment on those.

Affordability, You'll want to go to your local autoparts store and pick up generics. They can range from 20%-300% cheaper depending on the part. Its also a good idea to check out local exhaust shops for deals they may have on parts.

Well, I ended up going to Advance. I got everything but the cat (gonna try to save mine). Y-pipe , brackets, muffler, etc. Total with discount was $170 OTD.
