I bought a cap from Kunar over the winter. It is light blue. I plan to put it on for Heather's truck which is black.

I put it on the truck for about a month and it works great! So now I would like to get it painted to match the truck. It has a few scratches in the paint, down to the fiberglass, but as long as it's black I don't care really.

Where would be the cheapest place to take it for a coat of paint that will be very similar to the color of the truck?

Thanks!

Rattle cans.

I'm about to attack a schoolbus with a paint brush. You'll be a whole neighborhood away from the tracks from me if you advance to spray cans.

Vo-ed school or trade school. My uncle had one painted for the cost of materials.

+1

You could probably even get one of those Duplicolor matched cans if you're the type of guy that doesn't feel that black is black is black.

yeah, i would probably spray paint it. use some spray on bedliner. it will be black and help hide all the dings and scratches. if you want to have it done somewhere, do what copytech said and look for your local vocational school that has a body shop class. they will usually do it for the price of supplies. if that doesnt work, look for the cheapest body shop around. i thought you had somebody to paint it for you though? anyways, let me know how it turns out.

She wants it to match, which I can understand....

I thought I had someone to paint it, but so far it's still blue.

if she wants it to match close go to a body shop that will guarantee the match.without doing a blend it can be hard to get colors to look the same.painting the cap and throwing it on is called a butt match.anytime you put on a body panel and don't fade the new paint into the original its easy to see the difference.and a lot of the shadier(cheaper) places won't spend the time to adjust the color formula enough.

that said its just a truck so cheaper would be better.whats she willing to live with?
