I have a 2003 3.0 flex with a possible vacuum leak I wanted to look at the EGR hose. If I am looking under the hood where is the thing? I don't see it. Thanks
Its running rough for 15-25 seconds after start and I put it in gear and start to drive off. As soon as I get going to speed the roughness stops. I have done plugs, wires, IAC, TPS, cleaned MAF. New fule filter new air filter. Thing runes great ofter it gets going. Its just that first small amount of time after start up.
if you know someone with a 3.0, try swaping the MAF. could have a bad one. or a bad downstream o2. theres a few things, but like stated above, are there any codes?
NO codes, I was checking vacuum hoses because its the next cheapest thing on my list. ( It is really rough backing out then for maybe 50 yards then it runs fine.) I am just going one thing after another trying to track down the issue. Anyways I still do not see the EGR anywhere.
Check fuel pressure when you first fire it up and then check pressure bleed off once the key is shut off. My B2 does the same thing and I'm pretty sure it's because the in-tank fuel pump is dying.
Try cleaning your MAF sensor. In closed loop, I think the engine relys on the MAF for determining air/fuel mixture than the O2 sensors. Cleaning my MAF helped when I had this issue, but its considered normal in my manual to an extent when running E85 (manual calls it a "rolling idle") while the computer adjusts to the blend of fuel you're running. Is it mentioned in your manual? In any event, MAF cleaner isn't that expensive and has helped in any car I've done it in so it couldn't hurt.
I did clean the MAF with MAF cleaner see #4. Fuel pressure was at 30 psi and went up to 64 psi on the rail. I can check it again and see what is drops to. I also thought it could be a stuck open canister valve flooding the air intake with fuel fumes but I clogged that hose and it made no difference. Should I get rid of the platinum plugs? Thanks for everones ideas. I still dont not seee an EGR on this model.
"I just replaced a "connector hose" #2L5Z-9E498-CA for $54.46 at dealership" This is the cannister hose I replaced this already for $2.56 ( sorry
