Where is it?

1994 4.0 4x4 5speed manual Hubs changed to manual locking. The 4x4 works but the light on the dash will not come on,changed the dash plug in unit but still does not light up.I understand that the 4x4 module is in the kick panel and may be the problem. Where is the kick panel? I have been told it's behind the seat and under the dash. And if anyone has a cure for my problem please advise.Thanks

The auto hubs were changed by a previous owner.

The 4x4 module does not control the dash lights.

There is a switch in the transfer case that grounds out the wire for the tell-tale. It is actuated by the movement of the shift collars in the transfer case.
