Silly question but I can't figure it out. I thought it mounted in the center console and it snaps in like it fits there, but then the console lid won't close.

I rests in the center console under the arm rest. I like mine all the way forward but I've seen some have it all the way to the back.

Yeah I put it there and then the arm rest wouldn't close all the way. Maybe I need to scoot it back just a hair.

It should kinda snap in and sit flush or slightly below the edges of the sides of the compartment.
