Hi, I have 2015 Ranger and would like to install wheel well lights. Mainly this is just for added aesthetic cause it looks really cool at night.. I think this is also a safety feature for added visibility but I read from other forums that a guy was given a ticket because it is illegal. Any thoughts? Anyone have this installed?

Billy,

I live in Washington. They are legal trail use only, if I drove on the road with that type of lighting powered up, the citation would start @ $101.00.

I recommend looking up California's stauetes governing lights in that location.

I don't believe they're legal here in Illinois either.

I hope to install front and rear rock lights some day... but they will be Off-road use only.

That is the kind of thing that may vary from state to state. As recommended above, you should probably check your state's regulations.

Post a pic of your 2015 Ranger.

2015? Is it an import or did you make a typo?

In any case, you’ll need to check CA law on that. State laws vary too much for to give good advice here unless someone from CA knows the answer.

I used to mount amber fog lights under my jeep for that “glow” look. The way I went through U-joints it was handy for night repairs. Never got stopped for it but this was a long time ago too, like 1989 I think.

I don't know if they are illegal and not to be rude, but using them on the road is annoying and distracting to everyone else. By all means install them if you wish, but save them for use at car shows or if you are using them as rock lights, use them only offroad. There's no need to be driving down the highway with lights under your car...

.

Or are you a spammer that had links to stuff you’re selling and I removed... and aren’t aware of what year we had Rangers in the US?

We do have European, African, Australian, and Asian friends here with the T6 ranger. :dunno:

The OP says they are from Hercules, California which puts them in the Bay Area. Assuming my understanding of what the Bay Area is correct.
