Can someone please explain why i see both 5x4.5 and 5 x114 bolt patterns. I have a 99 ranger 4x4 and i need to know what bolt pattern i have.

5x4.5 is the american (SAE) bolt pattern and is from 98 and older vehicles...the 5x114 is the metric bolt pattern and is from 99 to 2010 vehicles. Ford switched the pattern to metric and are not interchangeable. If you pull one of your factory wheels off you will see the stamping on the inside of the rim what it is

not exactly true... 4.5" =114.3mm, they are the same exact thing. they are interchangeable, its just how they call out that measurement. (btw, .3mm is about .011 inches, or about twice as thick as a human hair. the difference is insignificant)

I stand corrected, at least on the RBV's...I know I have tried on the 8 lug rims and was off enough for the rims not to fit...

Did you have to do anything to those Alcolas? I really want a set for the Ranger, but I want to make sure they will work ok first.
