Wheel hop

I will see if they have some at my local parts store and give them a try. Thanks for the advice. My plan is to run explorer springs spring under when I put the 8.8 in and also an explorer sway bar. Then I will have to make some weld on mounts for the axle side for the traction bars. I have alot to do to the truck. I need to rebuild the hole front-end and make some upper shock mounts to accept some 2.0 FOA shocks. I'm using the truck as a daily right now cause of diesel prices. So it might be a while till I get to it
Yes, keep us posted. I find wheel hop rather irritating. I'm thinking about buying an inexpensive pair of traction bars just for street use.

Lakewood. Old school style and inexpensive. Plus, look cool and make people wonder what is under the hood

This is the type of traction bars. I haven't messed with the preload on them at all. Maybe I will give it some more preload this weekend. I also did a shackle reversal to get the back end down a little bit.
I dont have experience with that style of bar. As a thought experiment...
With that style the front half of the spring is under compression, compared to the slapper bar (I was thinking in my original answer) the spring is under tension. I think compressing the spring is more likely to induce oscillations into the spring. That and old rubber bushings likely are the problem. Replacing the bushings with solid or poly might cure the problem, if not then try using slapper bars. Or Caltracks.

Those Duff bars still allow the forward half of the spring to bend, causing the hop. Convering to spring under is best fix.

Man. I wanna pick up some cheapo 2wd ranger to rallycross next winter after all this -__-

The series closest to me only runs during winter when the ground is frozen to minimize damage to whatever farmers field they "rent" for the day or whatever.

Extreme lack of off road racing in the northeast. Boooooo.
