got a 03 4x4 edge wheelbearings are going bad and dont have the money to replace them is there something i can do to make them last a lil bit longer until i get my tax money?

I just changed my bearings last week, but if i were you i would take the bearings out and clean em up and re packem with grease.

'03 uses cartridge bearings (assuming this is for the front). No real practical way to take them apart at all.

Only way I can think to make them last longer is to park it for now.

nope totally different than 97 and down wish i still had the old style bearings it would be much cheaper to replace does anyone know where i can find some quality wheelbearings for my 03 without spending 200 a peice at autozone i have seen them on ebay for a pair for 175 but just not sure about ebay stuff

Like stated above, not anything you can do for a unit bearing.

Try www.rockauto.com

But id strongly recommend timken. They ARE pricey, but are worth it.

Ive seen cheap bearings come back 3 months down the line. Ive seen timken last for years. Even the precision brand suck.

Timken...period.

thanks for the rockauto link the timkens are still cheaper than what autozone wants for their duralast so that is probably what i will be going with then

look up "rockauto discount code" on google, you can save 10% with it. usually pays for the shipping pretty much.

theres no way at all for him to get grease in there? I dont see bearings going bad that fast. geez. but then again his is prolly driven different than others.

Nope, no way to get grease in them.

i had a right front bearing start to go to make it last i pulled the abs sensor on that hub and force gease in there with an air greaser and a rubber gromet. i wouls not recomend this if you want the abs to continue to work . made it last a couple extra weeks till i got a good pay check lol :headbang:

i just posted another question about this if you could drill and tap a grease fitting and add grease like that is this possible
