Yeah, so i'm putting in some new front wheel bearings, on a dana 35 ttb by the way, and i see that one of the races that is pressed into the rotor is freely spinning... I really thought that since i was putting a new one in it wouldn't be a big deal... well after i installed the new race it was freely spinning too so i popped it back out and coated the outside of the race with JB weld... the race is now fixed and will not budge a bit... my question is should i be concerned with the high temp from the friction of the brakes and bearings.... i'm concerned about the JB weld not holding up and the race freely spinning again. jb weld says on its website that it can handle temps up to 500 and 600 degrees F. what do ya'll think?

I think it is time for new rotors.

Yeah i wanted to try to avoid buying new rotors, but it is what it is... I like how purelove has to get all dramatic on me.... I think God has more of a say in whether my life is spared or not.

Perhaps, but I wouldn't want to be the person in the lane beside you when it happened. I guess it doesn't matter so long as its not you that gets hurt I guess right?

There is another way, and I'd take it apart ASAP and clean all the jb weld out...Take a center punch or cold chisel, and punch or "pin" the area that the race sits in, pin it several times around the entire area, one every 1/2 to 3/4 inch is suffice. This will give the race something to grab ahold of (and is better than JB weld), and buy you time til you can purchase a new set of rotors. And yes, this is safe to do :icon_thumby:

God gave you the intelligence to not do something stupid........now it's all up to you......or be a Darwin Award nominee.....

just for the record i did end up replacing the rotors... i didn't feel like it was worth the chance of tearing up a set of brand new bearings just to see if it would work... i swear i hate those dang chinese rotors... thats about all you can find these days and they tear up before you can even get the full use out of them. thanks for all of the opinions.
