Whats your average mpg?

I get about 19mpg on average, and I am running 30" tires on stock gearing axle code 84 IIRC.

I've been getting more on the highway lately though since I got rid of the fan clutch and stock airbox.

I get from 16 - 19. Im lucky to get 320 mpt. and I fill up once a week. all high way through the week ands mixed on the weekend using the ac very very little. I have tried the 2600 rpm in all gears theory all the way up to 3100 for better gas mileage and its all the same.
2.3 5spd. Nothing in the bed but a plastic tool box and about 100lbs in tools in it.
Factory sized tires. Have no idea why I get such shitty mileage ?
Maybe I'll check the breaks for a little drag ? Get a cover for the bed. I like the roll ups and the hard, hinged fiberglass tannuea ( sp ? ) covers but they spensive' damn it !.

My first 97 rarely dipped below 25. my new 97 stepside gets not as good but still never below 21 even with my trailer loaded.

94 2.3 ext cab wore out motor 33 inch tires 4.10 gears a bed full of tools and pedal to the floor i get around 17-19 MPG everyday. that's about 70/30 hwy/city

on a cool day with an empty truck it'll get up around 19-21.

i think the guys claiming anything over 25 are full of it, once in the life of my truck i got 27 MPG. that was bone stock on a flat highway on a cool day with the wind at my back. haha.

I average about 26 on the highway doing about 65mph. I took out the belt-driven fan and used an e-fan from a Pontiac van and just use an in-cab switch to turn the fan on at lights and in slow traffic. On the highway I never need the fan, even in south Georgia summers, and I got a sweet boost in mileage when I switched to electric.

That's great, thank you all for answering my thread, I been working long hours so haven't been on in a week. I figure if I get a 5spd truck put a cold air intake setup and free flowing cats (if available for the truck) that I should average descent mileage but also depending on what gear ratio it has. Do all the 2.3's come with the 7.5 rear? is there a common ratio these came with like 3.73's or 3.55's?

21 to 24 mpg outta my 2.5l 5 speed stick everything stock aside from a k&n air filter and magnaflow muffler

oh and i have 3.73 gears in an open 7.5

I'm bored so I'll chip into the old thread. My current 92' reg. cab, 2wd, 2.3l manual gets around 22-24 no matter where I drive it. I haven't even used 5th gear since I moved to charlotte and no change and the trucks got a problem or two. runs 205/75R14's with 3.55's. The 06' I used to have was ex. cab 2wd 2.3l with factory 4.10's running 225/75r15's got a rock solid 30mpg long as I stayed under 65mph. Man I miss that truck lol.

Still trying to figure mine out...so far this month I've spent $170 on gas and got just over 1,000 km...at a buck a litre, that's about 170 litres per 1,000 kilometers...and that works out to an attrocious 14 miles per gallon...or about 17 litres per 100 km...

That means I'd be spending $17 a day to get back and forth to anywhere reasonably close to work...Gah~

I get about 17-19 average commuting, but I spend a fair amount of time sitting in traffic.

25+ mpg on average. all stock with 5spd and 3.45 gears. completely tuned up and maintained

OK, so last night I pulled the carb apart and found a huge vac leak in the base of it...so now I might get some decent KM/L

That's Kilometers per Liter...not Kiss MY Luigi...

my 4.0 sucks gas like its gettin paid.

My gas gauge is broken, but usually I get around 580 to the tank. So I am guessing that is around 34 MPG... Only things done are pnp head removed the nerf football looking thing from the intake and normal maintenance. Most of my driving is done on the interstate around 70 mph. Also forgot that my A/C doesn't have the belt on it, have the one for power steering w/o A/C.
