Whats too fast

i have done est. about 140 150 on a back road that straight and in the middle of nowhere, stupidest i have seen was 3 different superduties lift on like 38s or 40s towing boats doing at least 85 to 100 in the fast lane on the 405 here in cali i was doing 75 in the ranger and they flew past me, about a mile or 2 later all 3 were pulled over

163 MPH legally! In a 44 foot MTI, outfitted with twin 1800 HP turbines. Illinois to Michigan in 1 hour and 5 minutes. And about $1000.

i got my v6 ranger up to 110mph on an open highway before the governer hit. (thats off my speedo) i also have a video on my friends phone of us doing 75 on a somewhat rough dirt road. found out that stock rangers handle really good over low whoops at that speed i was impressed. glad theres no speed limit in the desert

I've done right around 110 a few times on my bike since that's about all it'll do. Open road every time, I'm not that stupid. That's more or less fast enough for me, at least when I'm just sitting on top of the damn thing. Maybe some day I'll drive a Porsche on the Autobahn, we'll see.

I don't know what too fast is but I have had my 69 cougar conv. up to a 130 with my father-in-law in the pass. seat trying to blow off the rug he wears. (man the glue is amazing. it has to be better than 3m adhesive spray)
been up to 120 in the 96 stang conv. decided that was enough when the windows started to suck out of the car.
then I was at my best of 140some in my moms 66 dodge charger 383 four barrel. that car is a hell of a straight line car.
and i was up to 110 in my buddys 91 mr2 turbo. (greddy turbo, intercooler, exhaust, and many other things) that is a scary car any little twitch in the steering wheel and your changing lanes fast. sad thing about that car. it was totaled doing less than 15mph. my buddy moved back home to kentucky a ice storm came through, and he tried to baby it home less then 4 miles. bounces off the guard rail like three times.
and last 120 in my 91 SHO.
O ya cant forget 105 in a 01 e350. but that time was totally legal. the ceiling was too low to fly. not raining and street were clear. so we had to drive the pt to the trauma center. Now that was too fast


most of the these were hey lets see how fast it can go at 4am. the only ones that I was constaly above 100 was in the stang, mr2 going to vegas. and my cougar going through NM got a ticket with my mom in the back seat for 103 at 4am. the patrol man was super cool dropped the ticket as low as he could came out to a $69 ticket.

did you know that a 99 Ranger with a super charged 2.5 and racing tires with the stock 3.55's will go 152??? i found that out and never will do that again

I feel like a real hooligan. I just hit 145mph on the NYS Thruway coming home today. There were some cars but not many. The off ramp was super fun though.

did 95 in my zx2 s/r in 4th and the motor was hardly working....did not evan notice.....looked down and said hell NO...i know that she wil do more...i have heard of guys in stock s/r with diablo chip with the gov turned off burry the needle...and that goes to 150

did 70 in tractor trailer one day wile ato work......in 8th gear...still had 2 to go....was empty though

but i did max out my 95 bronco at 75 and was fuckin pissing my self

i will do 70 all day long in the right car...but any faster than that hell no....and this in only on the high way......40-50 is my happy speed

if i was rich and had a death wish, i wouldnt mess around with all these dinky american muscle cars...id get myself a bugatti veyron. 253 MPH. the worlds fastest production car...and it does all this with lincoln quality

Please explain Lincoln quality. Isn't Bugatti owned by volkswagon.

I'll say this till I'm blue in the face. There's a time and place for everything, going stupid fast doesn't bother me a bit if there's no one else to hit, if you're doing 100MPH in traffic and/or highly populated areas you need your ass kicked. We have far bigger problems on our roadways than people doing 100+MPH in the middle of the night on the freeway.

The fastest Ive been was a buck sixty with my Dad in his Cobra when he was "Accelerating" Next to my buddy on his Modded (Full exhaust, power commander, etc) ZX 9R. That bike is damn fast too, he was only 2 bike lengths behind the Cobra.

Oh and for the record, I just made all that up......

I have done about 150mph in my Procarged 5L Mustang, racing a Camaro down the highway in Phoenix, and acording the the speedo 178mph on my 2006 R6, so probly more around 160mph i would guess, bike speedos arnt to acurate at that kinda speeds.

I've drivin 145 - 150 in a 90's 3000GT Twin Turbo, I've drivin 115 in a 00' Chevy Impala, 125 in a 95' Z28 Camaro, and 115 in a 89 Grand Dam DOHC, and then my son was born and it all changed. Speeding through residentials lost all it's fun and now I find myself actually watching for kids in the streets rather than flipping the bird at someone who told me to slow down. I think before flooring it and trying to get the thrill of speed, at 100+ it only take the slightest miscalculation and then your family never get's to see you again. To me, too fast is anything that will put you, or someone else in danger. It's not worth yours or someone else's life for a few seconds of fun.

I've been pretty good for the last year but...

I make the trip to Road America at Elkhart Lake every year for the American Leman Race. One year we averaged 110 on the way there(an 1:10 trip) with one stretch hitting 161. This was in the car in my sig. Didn't top out but I got serious tunnel vision and backed off.

I went 119 in my 97 Camry that I used to drive. definitely hit the governor tho cuz I could tell it had a lil more. Amazingly it handled solid at that speed.
