Whats too fast

WOW! some of you guys like speed. Where does fear and stupidity stop. When we kill some one. I guess my thoughts were should we not be loosing our privilege to drive when we do things like this 164 mph.
Should we be able to buy our way out of licencese suspensions.
This guy could of killed some one.
When I did my high speed racing on the highway it was "like 26 years ago"
There is race tracks all over the country. (lets use them)
I hit 90 mph on my sled in feb. on my dads land (I pooped my self). TOO FAST!

My spelling sucks in know.

I'll say this till I'm blue in the face. There's a time and place for everything, going stupid fast doesn't bother me a bit if there's no one else to hit, if you're doing 100MPH in traffic and/or highly populated areas you need your ass kicked. We have far bigger problems on our roadways than people doing 100+MPH in the middle of the night on the freeway.

Agreed. In the heart of the upper peninsula of Michigan there is a stretch of road with no houses, turns, turnoffs, changes in direction or elevation for 30 miles. It's common to never see another person along there. In that case I'd take my Cobra up to 160+ MPH, and I believe I could do that safely.

Normally I don't go more than 5 MPH over. I have a perfect driving record.

You can't just look at speed either. You need to look at the vehicle. My Cobra would be safer doing 100 MPH on the freeway than my Explorer is doing 70 (fastest I have ever driven it). I frequenly go 5 under when driving my Explorer as I know it has a high CG, flexy suspension, and decreased braking power with the larger tires.

I've done 130 on my bike, limited by revs, if it was geared different, it would pull for quite a while longer. I did 120 in my '90 GT Foxbody, I usually cruise in the BII at around 65mph. No need to go faster, not in hurry.

128mph Is the fastest I've ever gone. That was in my old 440 Charger with an Auto and 2.73 gears. That was back when I was a dumb teen... I now speed at track days and driving schools with my GTZ. It's been clocked at 119mph LEGALLY!

$12k seems like alot. Seems a bit stiff. Maybe he's rich, though, so it wouldn't actually be a penalty but kinda like the rest of us who drop a nickle on the ground and don't notice.

Seriously, though. If the speeding fine goes up relative to the speed, there should be a cap. It's not like you're going to kill someone even more by doing 200mph vs. 250mph.

fastest i have been was in the dealer owner's ford GT from Tampa to Orlando had i red lined limited around 200.

the new Benz macarin will use a full tank of gas in 12 min at top speed.

How much is too fast? When you can achieve lift off.

The fastest I probably been is about 80mph. The old 2.3l doesn't move too fast. Only did it to get the idiot plate number to report a weiving driver. Probably he/she was drunk or falling to sleep, kept driving off on the shoulder and skimming the grass.

About 110~120 mph in my 1992 Accord. That's right, a Honda. I can't really remember if it was closer to 110 or 120, I was more focused on the road than the speedo. And it was only for a few secs because it was a little scary at that point. But it still had more left in it. I've also hit the 90 mph speed limiter in my Ranger. And the Explorer, well I don't know because the speedo only goes up to 85. It was probably somewhere around 90 mph though.

160 mph in my 66 impala SS396. Around 180 in my 65 GTO. No danger to anyone but myself. 140 on the back of a GS1100. Let me off this damned thing! 105 on my dirt bike. I don't like to eat dust.

ive done over 100 in pretty much every vehicle ive owned. i dont speed much anymore because im usually not in that big of a hurry to get anywhere.

if i was rich and had a death wish, i wouldnt mess around with all these dinky american muscle cars...id get myself a bugatti veyron. 253 MPH. the worlds fastest production car...and it does all this with lincoln quality :derisive:

Sorry to say, but its no longer the fastest.

And I'm sure next month jaguar is going to reveal an even faster car...

I was lucky to get my 92 ranger up to 65, that only happened when i went downhill, lol

Those must have been very heavily modified cars. Those sleds wouldn't outrun my bike in 3rd gear if they were stock.

I once did 140 in a 455 gto, never had the bug to do it again.Too fast is when the paint starts coming off.

TRS doesn't allow the promotion of illegal activities. Keep that in mind while you are bragging.

If you could run 200mph, I would be impressed. Otherwise, if you passed me going that fast I would be praying for the opportunity to pull out your esophogas and jump rope with it.

Some people's trucks are so dangerous that they are taking more of a risk at 65mph than the 160mph motorcycle guy.

I've been over 100 mph within a 1/4 mile and did it legally!

When I was young I got a LOT of speeding tickets, I'm smarter than that now.

To fast is when you can't stop for that little kid chasing a ball out into the road.

these are my personal favorites, as to how fast is too fast on a bike, i'd have to say when you have to tie your stupid ass to the seat so you don't get blowed off :haha: and your cheeks are slapping you in the back of your neck ;missingteeth; . the fastest i ever been in anything is 150mph, and yes legally, i was in montana when they had the safe and prudent law in effect :3gears: which basically meant how much lead do you have in your shoe and how many ponies do you have to kick in the ass. i was drag racing a guy down a 4 lane highway in my former firebird :blush: . FWIW safe and prudent was repealed when they did a survey and discovered that old folks and testosterone fueled dragsters [ estrogen fueled as well ] don't a good combination make. in plain english, too many slow pokes pulling into trafic at a snail pace when the cars already on the road are running like jack rabbits ;missingteeth;

They were. The Impala had a complete Isky cam kit. The GTO an Olds 455 with W30 heads and complete Crower kit. 2nd gear wheelies with street tires. Probably would only turn quarters in 13s but crazy topend speed when you could open em up. These modern sportbikes are ridiculous fast. No doubt faster than 4000 lb cars of 35 years ago.

i did about 195km/h (120mph) in my dad's 89, 5.0L mustang with some suspension mods but it started to feel a little lose so i backed it down. not a car in sight. i don't generally break 130km/hour in the ranger. not worth it. they way i see it, if you're alone in the car/bike and in the middle of nowhere then do what you want. but don't risk anyone else's life for a lil adrenaline
