Whats the top speed on the 2.3, 3.0 and 4.0?

This is true, our trucks weren't designed for high speeds, particularly where aerodynamics and tire equipment were concerned... My tires are limited to 112mph, and our trucks are brick shaped... No getting around that without lots of expensive work...

My old leaky 91 4.0 5 speed manual will go 100 and maybe even a bit over, but it's geared very high. It's my little sleeper, people hate me when they try to race me:). That darn truck is fast.

My 2003 4x4 with 4.0 SOHC and 5 speed manual and 4.10 gears tops out in 3rd gear when the rev limiter kicks in...about 97 or 98 mph. Changing to 4th or 5th only lower the engine rpms. Pull the speed governor and I'm sure it'd run 130+ mph, but that would be one hairy handling ride I care nothing about. It is a truck after all.

I used to have a 76 F100 with a 429 thunderjet in it......front end would start lifting around 100mph..... I never mashed the pedal to the floor... goosed into it about 1/2 throttle getting on the freeway once.... fishtailin like a mofo
