whats the stupidest thing youve done in your ranger?

I guess on the "to my ranger" part, I bought lights online instead of a junkyard... My back lights are styled like 05 explorer tails, but with a f**cken bike reflector at the bottom... now to go to junk yard and get tails...

The most awesome thing I did with my truck was climb a 45 degree+ rocky hill with my stock ranger and pulled out my friends 1 Ton Cummins out of a hole another dodge couldn't get it out of... Probably partially the drivers fault though

took an interest in women when i was younger, ive had a headeache for 15 yrs.

Wait, isn't that the best part, 'cause then you get to claim insurance?

yeah. insurance. well i had moved from WA to UT and kinda let my insurance lapse. i guess THAT was the dumbest part of all. I have enough insurance now to choke a small moose.

When I was 17, I had a 1996 Explorer.. I was just past my friend's house and decided to turn around to go see her. Well, I was just gonna do a quick 3-point turn instead of going around the block. Slight miscalculation, I ended up with my rear tires down the slope into the ditch.. I couldn't get out so I figured I'd just back up into it and get a running start to get out.. Yea, I know, what a dumb idea. I ended up getting completely stuck in thick mud up to my axles. Nothing I could do to get out. My friend's dad ended up calling AAA to pull me out.

BTW, it was someone's front yard.

No worries, I did that two years ago in a customer's front yard with the company truck. :icon_rofl:

I got my company van stuck at a stop light.. It was pure ice and I had to stop at the red. The van's tires were too crappy and there was only a 32" tube tv and some tools in the back as weight.. Yea, it took a while to get going. Everyone was beeping at me, nothing I could really do though.

I know this will happen with every post I make.. I'm okay with that.

on the way to work 3 weeks ago we had had alot of rain overnight, i had rounded a corner within sight of work at about 45 mph (in a 35 zone) and saw i was about to hit high water. thought about braking hard but just said give'r hell and i downshifted to 3rd and held it to the floor, dont know how deep it was, water was going straight up on both sides of the truck, was deep enough and a long enough strech of water that i had to downshift to 2nd because of the resistance of the water, glad i still had my 400# of winter weight in the back or my rear tires would have been spinning uselessly. i heard later that a small honda stalled out in the same area i went through. didnt hurt the truck , but i noticed last weekend when i changed tires and greased the front end that every where i greased a fitting, some water was pushed out.

haha dont worry about it i got stuck in my best friends yard in a full size dodge, the ground was soft but i knew it would be ok to park on, what i didnt count on was the fact it was gonna pour rain the whole 6 hrs i was there. ended up having to get pulled out with a ch$%# and a set of light duty ratchet straps. not ideal but they where going to redo the yard anways.

The worst thing I ever did to my truck was I went wheeling with some friends for a whole day. After 2 hours of solid muddin(later in the evening), I noticed the truck was making funny sounds. Well, turns out I didn't really have any coolant in the truck... at all. Haha. I was lucky I caught it when I did. nothing was damaged.

So we'll just ignore the fact that my sister's one friend (a guy) did a very similar thing in a moving truck in my parent's front yard. Dug himself in 3 inches before I went out and drove it right on out while my dad was gathering up the tow straps.

Jesus Christ, why is everyone so butthurt lately? I was just funnin' with her.

Left the roll pin out of the dizzy drive gear and forgot about it. Took me 9 months to figure out what was wrong.

Should have had a mechanic look at it. :icon_thumby: :D

Not sure if it is the stupidest thing or most awesome thing yet. It is fun but about tripled the value of the truck...

Not getting laid enough.

The funny thing is, one of the more senior techs was kinda keeping an eye on me too. I put the roll pin in my ash tray so I wouldn't loose it and forgot about it. Put it all together, timed it, fired right up, and ran great for about 2 weeks. Then I got on her one day and it was nothing but trouble until I decided to park her.

Left her set and revisited the problem in my head from time to time until one slow day at work during the summer it hit me like a lead pipe in the face. Went and asked my new mentor (since the last place had gone out of business) if that could happen from leaving the pin out, he said "Yes" followed by a few derogatory statement about the intelligence of both me and Tom (who he knew). I went home after work, went back to the truck, pulled out the ash tray, and sure enough, there was my pin.:icon_rofl::icon_rofl:
