I know this is a stupid question guys, but what's the proper torque spec for the rear diff cover on the 8.8? It's time to change mine again at 200K miles and I was a panzy last time at 100 and paid some fool to do it. It's not in my Haynes manual. I checked, then checked again. NO. I've heard 30 ft-lbs, 15-30 ft-lbs, 18-24 lbs.

What's correct?

Thanks,
matt

33 ft-lbs. When I do mine I just usually snug em down but that's the proper torque spec.

Tight. lol. I've never torqued the cover bolts. Just snugged 'em up.

Snug them up as said, the RTV sealant will do the rest.
