my oil consumption problems didn't start until about 275,000 ~ 300,000 miles. the factory PCV and oil separator were still in there. I would have to check my logs to see when (if?) it was replaced.

it was my work truck, I just kept driving it.

Good god, my pcv valve was dead and the vent tubing was full of oil at 60k! It had to been serviced at some point in 300k lol. Ford says replace every 10k!

Yes, and serviceable stainless mesh which is why I bought it instead of one of the cheap ebay ones. With how bad the VW intake valve issues are... You better believe they know how to make a catch can lol.
