whats my speed with bigger tires

ive got an 88 ranger 2.9 5 speed and want to know how off my speedo is i belive its slower but not sure i have 3.73 gear ratio and 31" tires thanks

With 31's you're not gonna be off that far, maybe 2 or 3 mph....Borrow a buddy's GPS to know for sure how much you are off...

what is the stock tire size for my 88 ranger cus i found somthing on the net that said its 22 in and want to know if its true cuz on the speedo check said if my speedo says 35mph my actual is 49.3 does that sound about right cuz that sounds way off but maybe not

a factory tire is gonne be a 235 75 15 on a 4wd ranger ur era, which is approximatly a 28 and change, a step to 31's at 60mph are usually off by 5mph

My speedo is off 5mph(speedo 55=60 mph) and the oddometer is off .1(oddometer 1.1=1 mile)

88 4x4 tires could be 215-235. 235 is pretty big for a oem first gen.

2wd could have some ridiculously small tires.

even a 1st gen 4x4 could come with ridiculous size tires. the stock tires on my 83 was 195/75x15! my spare was the original and to be sure, i checked in the specs book.

im sure the ratio of speed difference changes at higher speeds. borrow someones GPS (like a Garmin) and get your MPH from it. they are pretty accurate.
