What's in the console?

I just bought a 2005 FX4-II with "all the trimmings". It has a huge console, but the forward part (forward of the armrest) has no way to get inside (ie it's not a storage compartment). What the heck is IN there? Can I make it storage? Or something...

If your factory head unit says "Pioneer" on it, it should have a 6-1/2" subwoofer in it

Yup - but judging from the sound, it's not hooked up. Is there a switch or something,,,?

No switch-
There is a screw inder the rubber insert in the cubby next to the passenger airbag switch and another under the insert for one of the cup holders. There are also 2 "christmas tree" fasteners down under the dash in the corners of the console. Remove that stuff and you can snake the console out of the way to check and make sure everything is hooked-up.
