Found another interesting pic:

Some of these Kentucky cars had roll bars.

Not as cool looking as:

I use to drive this car when I was assigned to IS480 in Cleveland:

I shared it with another guy. This was my regular take home car I drove if I wasn't playing in the Camaro:

The pics suck. I just scanned pics I took from the 90's.

That Crown Vic was actually my favorite car.

My god...why can't we have cool patrol cars around here? We're stuck with the freaking Chargers now and, from what i've heard, the cops HATE them.

I wasn't going to jail. Plus, while we were driving, he was pointing out people he was going to be pulling over later in the night for being dumb.

Nebraska still runs Camaro's.

They look like a measily V6 car (blah external features), but they have the LS1... :secret:

What year Camaro's? UHP had a few Camaro's, but not many. I have a pic somewhere of one which is a 93-95 with a LT1 (I think they are called F-Body's IIRC). It was rumored they were switching to the Camaro when the Fox Body went out of production, but they went with the Crown Vic instead. I would imagine the difficulty of working on the LT1 Camaro's factored into the decision. UHP is starting to use the Charger, but I've heard grumblings about the Troopers not liking them too.

Jim, were you able to talk the guy down on the SSP?

Yup, F-body.

I'll take an LS7 any day!

And yea, I'm not a fan of the chargers either.

Inquiring minds want to know... :icon_thumby:

On another note, this is not too far from me. Very nicely built & well-kept, but really high on price. Also, it's a 347 stroker, so that's prolly more stock that you were wanting to go. The 331 strokers are great choice, and some of the other manufacturers that made the 347 kits had problems with their product.

The main reason was because the piston/rod rod ratio was not ideal and excessive force would be placed on the cylinder walls, causing extra wear and shortened block life. The other main reason was oiling issues. Because of the rod ratio, the piston head height was small and caused the oil ring to intersect the wrist pin, causing burn off and oil consumption. There was a company that made a slightly shorter rod + taller piston that kept it close (like a 343 stroker, IIRC), but they resolved the oiling issue and kept it nicely mannered for drive-ability.

DESCRIPTION:

This is a 1993 Mustang LX Texas DPS car, ( from Tyler Texas) last of the 3rd generation mustangs and you will not find the old DPS mustang around anymore! This car is number M3-262 Ford made in 1993 for the Texas Troopers and is TDPS 188262 labeled on the door jam. Car is the true BLACK & WHITE Texas Trooper car that was the 5.0 interceptor, except now it has quite a lot more pony’s added for fun! More like a 7.+ interceptor! This car is packed with a 347 stroker with twisted wedge heads, with all the radical goodies inside/outside the engine, has the BBK SSI ( single stage induction ) lower/upper intake system, Ford procomp racing plug wires, Paxton supercharger putting out 4.5 lbs, Mishimoto aluminum radiator with electric fan, Kotzu Racing aluminum valve covers, Canton racing 8 qt oil pan, aluminum driveshaft, 30# injectors, fuel management system, 1 ¾ full length coated headers into 3” exhaust with flow masters ending in stainless exhaust out the back. This thing is pushing over 500hp, with 550 lbs of torque and has the T5 Tremec transmission with the centerforce assembly, T5 girdle/differential with 3:43 rear end, WELDED sub frame connectors, slotted/drilled front disk rotors, new shocks front/back, control arms, power steering/rack pinion, original DPS mustang LX specs plus more. Only has about 500 miles on the engine/tranny, brakes etc.. This car is complete with the wig wam headlights, radio/PA with mike, radar, ( yes it really works), and the red/blue windshield lights. Also comes with magnetic trooper decals (removable in less than 15 seconds) from the doors/fenders/trunk for the car nuts who want to enter this in a car show. Interior is new and perfect, clean and amazing. Paint is not a perfect 10, but it looks just fine, most people just see black & white and freak anyway (especially when you do a u-turn!) Hood is custom raised fiberglass ( to clear all of the additional mods under the hood) I have the original hood as well. Trunk is immaculate as well with spare tire. Included is a custom made set of 9” matching wheels if you want to beef up the traction on the rear for more performance and larger tires. I could go on and on, long story short, if you want something really unique and different, you need to see this car, Never been on the track, you only ask for trouble for 12 seconds of fun! I don’t race it, just the punks that think they are bad, I punch it and leave them in a daze for a few seconds, let them pass me, then turn on the lights! Always in the garage and I don’t drive it except on good clear sunny days. Oh, yes, it has factory A/C and a pioneer am/fm CD player. New inspection and tags, ready to roll.
No joy rides, I drive you ride, when you buy it you can drive it all you want. YES cash only, no stupid stuff like sending your transportation company here with a check etc..TRUE buyers only!!! Will consider trade for 66-69 camaro-nova-chevelle- 1930-1960 street rods. NO JUNK CARS-has to be nice rides, I dont need a project car! I have a nice car....
$ 16,000.00 firm. If you know what it cost for this type of engine/drive train, (much less the car itself) then you understand this is a good price for what your getting! Have lot's of pic's and a video if interested.

Late 90's to early 00's. I was going to school out there in '03 and '04 when they were out in force.

I can't see a Crown Vic or even a foxbody keeping up with one.
