I have a 94 ranger 4.0 4x4 with an automatic(a4ld)... I plan on swapping in a mazda m50 . My pal owns a junk yard and although he may not have the tranny I'm looking for he would certainly have all the pedals aka (clutch,Brake). My question is what year pedals should I look for and does it matter whether they come from a 4x4 or a 2 wheel drive ? Also what should I watch for in terms of the clutch master cylinder ?

M5OD?

Certainly '93 & '94 will work for the pedals (maybe all '89-'94 also). Not sure about other years to either side of that though.

Whatever year you take the master cyl from, make sure you get a slave for the same year (the hose fittings have changed over the years).

Thank you 4x4 junkie... And yes I meant the M5od.....I'm also wondering if it matters if it is 2 wheel drive or four wheel drive that I get my pedals from, I really don't see why it would make a difference but thought I would ask to be sure.
