My 95 Ranger is a little neeedy & I'd like to know what years truck parts will interchange.. I need a radio. A seat if I can find a better one. a right taillight & my odometer don't work. My current guage cluster has no tach & the truck is a 4.0 automatic. Would I need the identical cluster out of a 4.0 automatic for it to work or if I found one with a tach from a different engine would it work?
I'd just like to know before I go looking & buying parts I wont be able to use.

Thanks Fellas! Billy

1995 is kinda its own year or 2 for some things.. for the cluster your going to have to get it from a 95-96 because the check engine light is on the lower right and 97 and newer its on the upper left side. as far as seats, just about anything bolt up from different years. just have to swap your seat track to it. if its an extended cab, you can use power seats from an explorer and its a bolt in swap. reg cabs you would have to use your seat rails. for the radio anything 95-97 i believe. in 98 they changed the connector on the head unit. tails lights... 93-99 were all 3 bulb units and would bolt right in for you.

I was looking on eBay & there are all tach clusters on there.. Can I install a tach cluster where i oricinally had a no tach cluster & will the custer, including tach, work with my existing wiring?

Thanks. Billy

Yes, a tach cluster will be a direct swap, IIRC, Transmission doesn't matter since the gear indicator on autos pops right out, but which engine it has does.

Dont forget that Explorers work too.

So i can use a Ranger or Explorer 95-ish cluster with tach but it must be from a 4.0 (thats what I have). Correct?

Also.. Will Explorer taillights work on a Ranger? Thanks again fellas!

Engine doesn't matter. No Expo tails are different.

Newer clusters work too, but like wires need to e swapped for door ajar, CEL and speed control and the temp gauge needs an added resistor. I have a perfectly functional 03 cluster in my 95 after a few flip flopped wires

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger with a 3.0V6, and am installing the same 2003 Silver ranger Dash cluster. Just finished the worm gear fix and still cannot get the tachometer to work correctly. PlumbCrazy, could you elaborate on what you had to do to get your 1995 to work with the 2003?

I think we have the same problem.
