My credo
Walk softly, and carry a BIG SIX!!!
I got a rolled '03 Xcab Ranger, and I need to find a cab (preferably with doors & glass) to paint & swap onto the frame. From the little research I've done, it seems like the cab is interchangeable from '98-11. But I'm hoping to get confirmation that all the firewall holes (wiring, A/C, brakes, steering column, etc.) and other details are identical so I know what to shop for.

That should be pretty close, supercabs were basically the same from '93 up, the dash stayed basically the same from '95 up (some slight changes around '98) and the wiring likely changes around all over but the holes for steering and stuff should be close enough. third and 4th doors didn't get added until '98 or later.

So then it has to be '98-11, at most, right? Nothing older will match. I know the shape of the grill & hood changed in '04, but did the core support change? Will an '03 grill snap onto an '04-11 core support? Will the '03 hood work with '04-11 core support? My goal is to eventually make it look like it originally looked (maybe a different color of paint, but still an original color).

That would make things easiest, it "can" be done complicated but then silly little things always hold you back it seems...

I don't understand your answer. What would be complicated? The '98-00 cab? Or the '04-11 cab?

I don't know where the line is, but the cabs are different from 03'-11'. The pcm is a different size. The 03' is smaller and slides in from the firewall to inside, under the dash. The 11' is larger, slides in from the firewall, but is exposed to the elements in the cowl vent area. I remember my 04' had the same smaller pcm as the 03'. So I would assume the line is after 04'
