I have a 95 ranger 2.3, 5spd with 3.73 gears / 7.5 axle and I'm wanting to buy a used 7.5 / 4.10 axle (Hopefully a low mileage LS). Does anyone know what years are a direct bolt in? Will a 99 axle work? I don't want to buy something that won't work or will need modified to work...

Why bother with the 7.5" when you can upgrade to a 8.8? Lots of them out there with your pick of gear ratio and brake size and condition. Bolts right in. Try car-part.com.

What year 8.8 axles work with a 95? I read through the tech page that Richard posted and I still am unsure what years are a direct fit... Can I get an axle from say an 01 ranger? I was just thinking I would not need the heavier axle since I only have a 2wd with a 2.3 and no plans of motor swapping in the future.

Thanks...

All '93-'09 7.5" & 8.8" axles are directly swappable.

That's good :) The newer models that have the speed sensor with the ABS, Can I just ignore that since my speed sensor is in the transmission?

Thanks!

Your axle has that same sensor too, it's just used for the ABS brakes. A later one should plug right in.
