i have a 3.2 dodge intrepid and someone offered to trade me a 88 5.0 mustang ... which would you rather have?

really are you asking that? for me it will always be the 5.0L but you might be looking for better fuel econ at this point, but I would think that you could probley find a cheap car for that.

1. price of gas
2. reliability
3. body condition
4. it depends on how hard the mustang has been run

it is up to you as you are the one footing the repairs, insurance, and cost of gas

Depending on condition... I would take the Stang and run.

They can get pretty decent milage if you contain yourself.

I heard a nice late model Cobra SVT stang fire to life behind me at the gas station last night....

When he/she took off man did it make me want a mustang.:D

Back to the subject at hand... I would go for the MPG at this point.

mustang is real good body wise 16" wheels runs really good .. the intrepid has a couple oil leaks and shifting problems

Intrepid needs a transmission.

I know I haven't seen it, but it's a Dodge. Odds are that the trans is shot or going to die.

Stang all the way.

Yeh if the intrepid is around 100k and is on its stock tranny it will need one soon.

Stang, if you end up not liking it, at minimum you could at least turn around and trade/sell it to get a different car. And as stated before, dodge tranny's are known for going out. Plus there is so much you can do with the old 5.0's.
