Thinking of developing a doubler kit for the RBV t-case.

The kit will include:
-Rear adapter plate
-Shaft
-shift fork shaft to go through both cases for all forks to ride on. (just a thought here, gonna begin R&D on it tomorrow)

Got a couple of focus group (you guys) questions...

1) What would you pay?
2) What would you want/ not want?
3) Would you buy just parts, or whole kit? or the option?
4) Any ideas of things I'm missing?

Open for discussion.....

1. fair price... I'd have to look to see what that'd be. Personally I thought the D&D kit was to expensive
2. all parts needed minus the cases
3. just parts IMO, I'd rather get the cases in the JY and put it together myself to save the money.
4. Idk... have a machine shop ready to make the shafts? Need someone to try one? lol..

4.0B2,

-What is a fair price to you?
-That was a given, hence the kit.
-Thats what I was aking, would you rather buy each peice seperately, or all in one kit?
-Are you saying youd try and make the shaft yourself? I can supply the parts if you're up for it? Are you a machinest?

no, I was just asking if you knew someone to make the shafts. I can't do it... The shaft is the one piece that is stopping me from trying it. I don't need one for my B2, it doesn't see any trails that a doubler would be needed. I was actually being sarcastic and saying I'd test out your doubler if you needed a test rat

without looking at what's involved, I can't say what a fair price is... How much are they for the more common setups? Last I looked the only kit for the RBV's were like $150 higher than the common doubler setups.

Everyone who offers them seems to quit offering them after a while... I believe its such a small market that you cant lead time to orders. Im pretty sure each one has to be build to order.

I was looking at offering it at about $150....

that's for the kit? everything except the cases right?

Yes...
$150 for the adapter plate, shaft, and fork shaft. D/S and tranny x-member mods and all are up to you.

maybe offer a crossmember at an additional cost. :icon_thumby:

Thats a thought, but there are about 5 different versions, so....

But I have kicked around the idea of showing how to mod the type of crossmember that's in my B2.

Considering what D7D machine charges when he makes them......

Well..... How much does he charge? I haven't been able to find a price for his kit yet!!

Goodluck getting a shaft machined and heat treated for under 150.

There is a reason D&D charges what he does...the shaft is half the cost of the whole kit. Getting something made that will take that kind of torque takes some coin.
