so last night i went to play pool with friends, the whole time the exploder ran like a bat outta hell. get out to go inside and i hear hissing....i check tires no leaks. i get a knot in my gut and pop the hood...my new intake gasket is leaking again:bawling:. slam the hood cuss and go shoot pool. come out around 2am. start the truck drive friends home and the whole time it runs fine. no riseing temp, no steam, nothing. get home pop the hood and its hissing from 2 more spots:shok:

i couldnt sleep so i layed here thinking. ive tryed to sell it before...no one even called on it. should i part it? junk yard it? fix it?

i guess you would need to find out why its leaking to fix it. is it leaking and the lower intake gasket or the upper plenum gasket? did it ever overheat possibly causing warpage of the intake? did you use a torque wrench and reccomended tightening sequence when you installed the last set of gaskets? you could have the intake resurfaced of atleast checked for flatness if you suspect warpage.

its the upper, it has never over heated on me. yes i used a torque wrench and the right tightening sequence i dont have enough money to have the intake resurficed......so im kinda bummed beacuse idk what to do:annoyed::dunno:

WHY do you think NOBODY called on it???

Go to the junkyard and get a new upper intake for it. Shouldnt cost to much.

later,
Dustin

Getting the intake surfaces will cost less than buying a used intake. Get it surfaced, get a Fel-Pro and clean the hell out of everything before assembly.

do what i do wen shit breaks.
either fix it or park it if its serious and user her for a scrap on your next project

im going to take it apart and try again. if it fails im beating it to death.. hell im going to do that anyway
