I dug this thread up from the TailGate forum 2010*****I'd like to keep this thread an original TRS thread that our members have created of old Ford vehicles*****If YOU have any pics that YOU took of OLD vehicles--Please post them here so we can see them (no internet photos )

Wut Wood You Do With Her?

Gotcha!!!!!!!!!!

But Seriously...............

000_0104.jpg

I found her on the edge of a wood-line......actually my Pa-n-law knew where she was for the last 30 years............I talked to the original owner...he had a fender bender in it.....parked it out back in 1975....then the trees grew around it....it's been thru about 10 major hurricanes, but no trees fell on it....it's got some nice 2" thick vines wrapped around it though....LOL.......

BDAD & other TRS members told me things to notice about the car to see if it's worth messing with.........

I'd love to have a project car like that. Or the truck in the other thread.

I found another old vehicle that the owner wants to sell........

By the shape of the cab it seems to be before 1936...anybody got an idea?

The gauges have been robbed, but the drivetrain is COMPLETE!!!!!!!!

NO body work....all dents are OOOriginal...bottom corners of the cab are rusted thru-about the size of a baseball on each corner

I heard the owner wants to sell it... I gotta go ask him the hard questions:

Do it have a clear title?

If not, can the owner get it titled?

If not, Can I get it titled?

How much?

Looks like a model A pickup. Are you sure there were gauges to be robbed from it? Back then things like speedometers and gas gauges were optional and added quite a bit to the cost of the vehicle.

Here is a pick of another one I found:

adsm......makes me wonder if that's a "newer" grill on the truck in my pic....

not that it matters...I could always buy the correct grill off'n eeeeebay!

The shadow lines on the upper part of the door of the two trucks are different.

Here's a pic of a '68 Torino, originally bought be me at the end of high school for $100.00. It was in a field, had good paint then, but a blown motor. I rebuilt the motor in my dad's driveway, it ended up being a 351 cleveland with 4bbl heads. The motor was built by the previous owner but he didn't do anything to the rest of the drive-train.... it sucked off the line, but it sure sounded cool.
I eventually put in a stock 429/c-6 into it from a '68 mercury marquis and had a lot of fun street racing. I never did run it down the track but was doing 105 mph at the end of a 1/4 mile....equates to mid 13's according to the hot rod magazines I was reading at the time.
I sold it, no motor tranny, for a $100.00, tracked it back down a few years later and bought it back for $150.00. I've been dragging it around for the last 20 years thinking that I will restore it to its former glory. I just bought three 429's, two c-6's so the dream is getting closer. Some where in that first time of owning it I installed a 9" from a '58 edsel. IIRC '57,8,9 ford big cars had the narrowest 9' rear ends backing plate to backing plate.

'66 coupe? Hard to tell from that pic. There's a couple of them in pa's shop that me and my brothers used to fiddle with, in our teens. Cool cars indeed. :icon_thumby:

Found in U-Pull-It about a month ago. If I couldn't have gotten a title for it I would have made a trailer queen race car out of it, if I could have it would have been a fun play car. Factory 2bbl 302 with a manual trans. The yard doesn't sell cars and I couldn't afford another project anyway.

It would have been neat because 1970 coupes are not that common to see out and about.

I didn't crawl under it but the body looked really solid, I think most of the damage on the PS side was from them moving it with a payloader.

I really wish people would call the JY, get a quote and throw it on craigslist for the couple hundred bucks they got for it and give it a second chance at life...

The grille shell and "V8" emblem tell me is a '32. The one adsm08 posted is a '30-'31

I'm amazed at the shape of it too, anything around here would be severely rotted. I cringe looking at that mustang, my friends uncle has a bunch of mustangs stored back in the woods, and they've all pretty much rotted into the ground.

My dad had a 34. Had a twin stack intake with two carbs (289) and Mustang II suspension in the front...I miss that thing....

I would like to find a project truck like this. Early scout or Bronco please!

Ahh ya that is a 34, the grille shell is actually a little more rounded and laid back at an angle compared to a 32
