What would make this happen?

I have a 93 4.0 4x4 5sp, and has not had a problem for quite some time now. But this morning, I leave my home to goto work, starts up fine, goes down the highway just fine, then I stop at a circle K and pick up a gatorade, and she won't start, she will crank but it is like she is flooded or no gas (trying to run, but won't). So then I'm like WTF!? I pop the hood, but before getting out I decide to try one more time, So I turn her over and BAM!! she is running like nothing ever happened. I close the hood and finish driving to work and no problems, no CEL,no hiccups, nothing....running like it should....IDK what this could be? :icon_confused: The start of something to look at? I know the Crank position sensor has been changed just before I bought the truck, hell the guy that had it replaced pratically every sensor there is,he could not get the truck to idle correctly, that is why he sold it, all it was was a vacuum leak at the brake power booster.

Can F.I. flood an engine like a carb engine?

That happened with my 94 a couple of times. Then I found out the fuel pump relay was acting up. If the fuel pump relay and EEC are the originals or you think they may be, I would replace them. They are not expensive and are VERY easy to change.

You will find them both in the electrical box under the hood between the battery and the master cylinder. Under the cover tells where each relay plugs in.

There should be 3 relays > Fuel Pump > EEC (computer ) > A/C
they are all the same so you could even carry a spare if you have a problem with either.

Thank You!! I know I replaced the EEC when I first got the truck, but that was not the problem, So I will take my spare and replace it with the old one.

Mine was doing that too and I found that I had a leaking injector. I'd pop the inertia switch to use the fuel in the line and then when it started hit the switch and she'd run like a champ every time.
