rebuild the 2.3 with forged pistons and cam etc. or turbo it i want more power when i push the pedal and if rebuilding it is the way to go then what all should i do bore it .30 over or what explain please...

i don't personally know about turbos but i know for rebuilds you can bore it and shave the heads and lift and lower the camshaft (lower it for more power in the low to mid rpms and raise it for more in the mid to highs) can you do both the rebuild and the turbo?

oh yah putting a turbo on aint hard just need manifold an bigger fuel pump and more air but there are other things

if your gonna rebuild and put forged parts in it you might as well tubo it too... you can bore it put forged parts in it get 8.5-1 pistons that way you can drive it for a while non-turboed then if you dont like that start gathering your parts for a turbo.... turbo, exhaust mani, injectors, ecu, ect... you can try both so you know wat both feel like and decide which one you like more... as for cams you can do just about anything as long as you do your homework... and unless you plan on running more than 10 psi you DONT need a bigger fuel pump... just injectors your stock fpr is the same as a turbo coupe...

Craigslist. EBay. Anything off of a Turbocoupe or mercur Xr4ti or a SVO mustang the parts are getting easier to find and cheaper by the minute so it shouldn't be that hard it just takes time and patiences. Take your time build the motor first that's the first goal. I don't recommend puttin a turbo on a stock motor. If you need a list of everything you absolutely need their is a thread around here that has the list and tells you about go much money your gonna be spendin. Go to the forced induction section (which you might want to have this thread moved their) St the very top I think if not yet the tech articals. Their is a lot of good stuff in their.

If you plan on turboing the motor, that won't last for more than a city block.
You'll need at the very least Injectors , sensors and computer from a stock turbo car. That is probably the cheapest way without having too much knowledge on the process.

The stock pistons will not hold up. You'll have to get lower compression pistons, preferably forged. Also for the boring part, the extra displacment is not worth the loss of strengh if you plan on using a turbo. You should have it bored as little as is neccassary.

whatever route you choose, take some time to learn more about what is involved before trying to tackle either one. And have fun! :)
