What would be a fair price to convert a 96 Explorer from auto to standard? I'm just asking for labor only. :icon_confused:

Well, get Mitchell online or find a labor book. Look at labor to R&R a transmission, wiring harness, ECM and all the other parts that need to be R&R'd. Check around what shops charge hourly.

The only way to answer this is what you are willing to pay. Go cheap get cheap work. Go big get great work.

What is fair to me may not be fair to you. If you are wanting a shop to do it just labor I'd say at least $800. Shame it's not OBD I! $800 maybe to cover replacing ALL the parts not just the tranny.

just checked Mitchell for the time, and you're going to be looking at 10-12 hours to install parts.
