I’m looking at getting a bigger welder.
I have a 110v 70a stick welder I got for free. I just put 240v in the garage and want a bigger welder.

we have a miller EconoTig at work i like using. I was trying to buy it but they decided to keep it, and they don’t make that model any more. I am most likely going to buy new.

I am looking at the Miller Syncwave 210, and it looks like what I want. Anyone run this?
What do you run?

I use to use syncrowaves, had 2 250s and a 350 at one point but I switched to dynastys. Syncrowaves are great reliable machines but the tech is a little out dated. If you want precision and portability get a dynasty 200dx. If you're not doing anything that requires fine adjustment and just need a welder that works get the syncrowave.

Millermatic 211 mig machine. I would eventually like a tig machine and a plasma cutter. But $$$

My go to for small jobs outside.

I have a bigger mig/tig/stick but dont use it much as I dont have a place to run it.

I've been using the heck out of my Titanium MIG 170 from Harbor Freight, it can lay a pretty decent weld for what I have into it... I found it open box for $125... I have an unlimited 200 which I bought first but have only tried it on flux core since I don't have a bottle yet, and haven't tried it on stick either but I imagine it will work good. I also have an old transformer AC/DC stick welder for when I really want to burn things together but for quick stuff I use flux core just cuz it's easier...

I started out with good old oxy/acetylene. Actually half decent at it too and buy the proper rods, just don’t do it much.

Next was a Lincoln AC-225 stick welder. Used it a good bit and it still gets used, but I never got all that good with it.

Lincoln PowerMig 200 I believe it is, this became my go-to. The nearly full 44# spool that was in it when I got it is now nearly empty and I absolutely love the welder.

Titanium welder, forget the model, it’s the little one at HF. Got it mostly for fixing mower decks and exhaust but it’s proven to be a sweet little welder. Make sure it’s on a 20 amp circuit if you want to weld anything heavier though, lol.

Also used a little Sears flux core welder and a Lincoln multi-process over the years but didn’t own them. I could actually lay a nice bead running stick with the multi-process and a lot easier than my old stick welder.

Someday I would like a plasma cutter and TIG machine, but money has kept me from that so far.

I have a Chicago Electric inverter plasma cutter too from Harbor Freight, the newer black one, again on open box for I think $225, it's magical...

My first welder was the old transformer stick welder from Harbor Freight that would work on 120 or 220 depending on how you wired it, never got the hang of that welder, tripped breakers all the time on 120, but I might give it another try... Next I got that big AC/DC unit for $20 (yes $20, at Goodwill, they couldn't test it) and that got me by for a while, didn't get well practiced until a few years ago when I got it to my place from my moms... Before I got 220V for that I ended up with a Harbor Freight 100A flux welder (blue box, lead always hot whatever version that is...) and got pretty good with that thing, it was more respectable than anyone ever gives it credit. Not saying that thing is a great welder, everything is a compromise, it runs too hot for .030" wire so you have to run .035" wire, you have two heat settings but pretty much you use the wire speed to vary the heat depending on what you are doing... Then came the Titanium welders and they are night and day versus that old flux core welder even still on flux core...

Miller 212 Millermatic and a hypertherm 30 plasma cutter.

The only way anyone would get either is "from my cold, dead hands."

The Miller 212 is a serious beast, and i won't go back to life without plasma.

and i won't go back to life without plasma.

i love using the plasma cutter at work. Of course that’s a commercial machine. But it’s so easy and doesn’t require tanks full of flammable gas and old leaky hoses. I can use oxy-acetylene. But I’m not very experienced with it and don’t like it.

i had a syncrowave and about 4 years ago switched to a everlast powertig255. its an inverter like the dynasty series millers and its blown my hat off everytime ive used it. very underrated welder

I can't weld. I will just send my projects to @Dirtman . He should have time to do them.

I have a Miller 211 (the old model) right now, a Harbor Freight DC inverter stick welder, and an ancient Century AC/DC stick welder. Previously had several Clarke welders and I have Hobart AirForce 500i and Hypertherm PowerMax 380 plasma cutters.

I really like my 211. It has been pretty reliable other than some random feeding issues on occasion.

Airco pulse arc 400, the best mig welder ever made. I picked up 3 of these at an auction 5 years ago and haven't touched my miller 350p since. I don't mig weld much but when I do this is the beast.

lincoln 225 stick welder was what I learned/grew up with, what Im using now is a century 115V arc welder, does what I need to do and takes up very little space. Ive tried gas welding (brazing) but never got the hang of it. Ive used mig & tig welders at a job before, both miller equipment, plasma where I once worked too, Its awesome but I dont need one enough to invest in one.
