Question: What was the last all-terrain or mud-terrain tire brand that you purchased for your Ford Ranger, and why did you purchase it? If you purchased a brand not on the list, please let me know and I'll add it so you can cast your vote.

Also, what tire model was it, what size tire did you purchase, and what year Ford Ranger is it on? Feel free to post pics if you'd like!

I bought Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP.

I bought them as a high bred All Terrain. I had high hopes for the best of all worlds... i wasn't really disappointed until it came to snow. Another factor was price on a wheel and tire package for 4WP. $1000 for 5 ProComp wheels and 5 tires mounted balanced and new lug nuts. I paid $100 more for their road hazard warranty.

Mickey Thompson now makes the same tire and calls it the Baja Legend.

wrangle cause i’m cheap. they are 27’s and I need bigger
like 31’s

I added Dick Cepek to the poll options.

I should have added... they dissolved Dick Cepek. They are no more. Anything Cepek is now Mickey Thompson.

Last two sets of tires I've purchased have been Kendas.

255/75/17 (32") Klever MT's were what I put on the '21 ranger, and they were pretty decent diggers. Excellent traction off-road. They DID wear a little funny up front.. but that's all MTs really.. and with 5k mile tire rotations they absolutely would of made the advertised 50k mile tread life. Performance in snow was typical of any other MT. 4 tires shipped from fleabay ran me 570$ iirc (early COVID)... Just can't beat that.

285/75/18 (35") E rated Klever RT's were my choice for the bronco. They're a cross between an AT and a MT and they are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Not nearly as noisy as a MT.. and they roll extremely smooth. They wear nice and even. Huge bonus for these is the suuuuper chunky sidewall tread.. no fear when aired down. 60k mile advertised tread life iirc.. and at the rate mine are wearing they'll probably surpass that figure. A set of 5 ran me right around 1200$ on sale from the Walmart website.. shipped to store.

I can NOT recommend these enough. Words cannot express how good of a tire they are. Until they discontinue this tread pattern I really can't see myself running anything else. They're damn near perfect in all weather.

BFGs. I've been running BFG Mts and ATs on my trucks for 30+ years. For the types of terrain I normally encounter, they have never failed me. With that track record, I hate the idea of trying something that, to me, is unknown.

Your experiences may differ.

I’ve ran at least 6 different sets of Kendas on my SxSs and quads. They make a quality tire.

The last offroad tires I bought for a Ranger were Super Swamper Thornbirds (Interco), 35x14.5x15’s. On a 12” wide rim they measured 18” wide at the edge of the lugs. They were great for digging holes and flinging mud into the stratosphere.

Falken Wildpeak AT3w for the last three sets of ATs. Twice on my Ranger, once on the F-100. The F-250 has them too, but I didn't buy that set.

Why? I tend to stick to Discount Tire for tire purchases, I like their road hazard warranty and stores are almost everywhere. Long time back I needed tires on the 99, The falkens were available in the size I wanted, and they seemed to be good quality. My driving is 90% on road, the offroad mostly consists of old logging roads. They performed well for what I do, so bought again the next time I needed them. Dad like the way that they were performing, so he put them on the F-250. Since we'd both been happy with them, I bought again for the F-100.

That said, I won't be buying any more of those. Not because I don't like them, but because the AT3W has been replaced by the AT4w. Also my needs, wants, and vehicle usage has changed over the years.

The Ranger is getting turned into a street truck and won't see anything rougher than a maintained dirt road, it's going to get tires fit for a street truck. The F-100 is going to get a MT tire next time it needs them (it'll be a while), mostly for the more agressive apearance. Not sure about the F-250, it doesn't see much rougher than a dirt road so may go with a highway tire. If I do stick with an AT it'll be the AT4w.

Now that think about it... those Cepek tires weren't my last purchase.

I bought a set of General Grabber X3's 33x10.50x15's. I bought them for my set of 5 Alcoa FX4 wheels.

I have exactly zero miles on them.

Last set of tires I bought for my ranger were mastercraft 3 season road tires. Avenger maybe?

This one makes it a bit tough for me since I have more than one Ranger and more than one set of tires. So, I voted the last set of tires I bought.

I bought Falken Wildpeak A/T4Ws for the 2019 because of the price and good reviews they have. I like the BFG KO2s on the 2011 except for the heavy rain handling that wasn't a problem until recently. The Falkens have a reputation of being better in that regard and yet still handle trails and snow well.

Anyway, that is the last set of tires I bought and why.

General Grabber ATX here, second set on the off road truck and the first one the on road truck, both of them got the AT2 tires before that as well, I feel they wear well and they're one of the only companies that offers an all terrain in a 225/70R15. I've found they're good in snow, they clean out well in mud for an all terrain and they seem quite durable off road.

Mind you, this review is based on a combination of two trucks, the 33x12.5R15 tires are on a truck that never sees snow and the 225s are on a truck that never goes off road.

My only real complaint is they flat spot quite bad when the temp goes below freezing, they do seem to beat themselves back round in a few miles but my commute is only a few miles so it gets annoying here and there. I also had one 225 tire that had an excessive amount of mold flash and wouldn't balance out. My tire distributor was able to warranty out this defective tire quite easily and the new one balanced out great and doesn't shake.

Mastercraft A/T's (made by Cooper).
265/70-17, slightly larger than stock.
2020 Ranger STX.

goodyear wranglers 235/75/15. Zi know some dont like them & have issues but theyve worked fine for me, just got to watch these tire shops that dont want to give you new valve stems (but still charge you) & also charge for tire disposal of old tires when you would bring in new rims with no tires.
