I have a 1988 Bronco II with the A4LD auto.Tranny took a crap (second time) so now I want to swap in a 5 speed.I know Rangers,Explorer, and such will fit but what other options are there....Mustangs?Mecurys?...any ideas? Thanks

The M5OD out of an Explorer or later Ranger would be the easiest fit with factory parts.

uhh no...fm146 would be the easiest, m5od requires more work and u sometimes run into slave cyl and master cyl compatibility problems with the clutch lines

either way both are same length as a4ld, fm146 is easier and cheaper, but they are getting harder and harder to find. took me about 3 months to find a decent one

M5OD isn't that much more work. The worst part is that you need to get a new hydraulic line.
