what trans will fit behind a 4.0?

I have a 94 ranger 4.0 4x4 stx package and the trans code is "m" and I was wondering
What transmissions I can swap out cause my shifter bushing are messed up
And I think my slave cylinder is going bad plus my master cylinder just went out
What luck I have. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

A bad master cylinder and slave cylinder doesn't mean your trans is bad. Simply buy a new master and slave and install them in and you're good to go. Same with the shifter bushings. To answer your question, only a trans from a 4x4 4.0 will work.

Awsome thanks I checked into the shifter bushings and they wanted like $380 for them and I told them that I would pass. So I'm not to sure on what to do about that

the shifter bushings aren't $380 they are around $25

Shit... a Hurst Billet Plus shifter is only about $215

Thats what the guy at the ford dealership said I guess cause it comes all together or something idk I told him that he was off his rocker
