My credo
I need more sleep.
For years there has been a trailer sitting in the field at the ranch. I never really thought much of it until I went up to it. Turns out it used to be a old chevy pickup but was cut in half and made into a trailer, the diff is even still there. So I figured well, let me pull it out and fix it up. I brought my truck over and had to jack the trailer out of the ground it was fused into and was able to put it down on my hitch. After giving it a quick jolt the ground let go and I pulled it to the hanger, two flat tires sitting in the ground for over 20 years, yet still hold air just fine. As of right now I'm actually painting it camo, I ran out of paint but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it after that.
Towed it back

I started painting but I ran out, it came out decent.

I think you skipped part of the story there chief. You are the only "him" in this thing so far.

Who cut it up?

Sorry lol, it used to be my grandpas truck and when it died he just cut in half. Used the trailer for awhile and just left in the field. It has barbed wire and stuff inside of it still, but I just need to find out where it was buried. I'm looking through pictures and stuff.

Haha. Go break out the metal detector.

One of these days I want to make a Ranger bed trailer that I can set up with an auxiliary tank to resupply my main tank with on long hauls. I have an idea of how to do it, but it would be very custom.

There probably won't be much left, but it would be funny if there is and I can weld it back together.

I would go to a junkyard and see if you can get a bed from a junker.

Depends on the soil conditions. I've dug up up parts that are have hardly any bubbles on them at all, and I'm sure have been in the ground for at least 60 years, some closer to 70 or 80. On the other hand, I've also dug up stuff that's been there maybe 30 or 40, and are a virtually indistinguishable lump.

Old farms are neat places to find stuff :D

Was down in San Antonio at Government Canyon State Park (It's just recently been opened to the public) and a ranch right next to it has this old Ford truck sitting out in a field. There's no vegetation around this thing. I couldnt tell you the exact year, but I remember it being from the late 20s or earl 30s. Was in remarkably good condition.

Is that an old Willys in the background of one of those pics? Classic.

How cool is that?!?!? BTW, I'm digging your Ranger. I like what you did with your mirrors and front bumper. The contrast is very cool.

Just because you painted it camo :icon_thumby:doesn't mean its as strong as the USA armed forces. That pic looks like your hauling that big barn:icon_confused::icon_rofl:

The bumper and mirror came out from the factory like that. I figured I'd go with the black and yellow theme.

I swear it weighs and much as it looks like it does. It's heavy.
