What to do with Old Gas?

I did a 2 year gas test with 40 liters (10 gallons) and Kleen Flo fuel stabilizer. It sat for 24 months with the recommended amount of stabilizer, in plastic Scepter gas cans.

I had my YJ down to 1/8 of a tank, poured both cans in it and drove it. I didn't notice any difference in the fuel from the fresh stuff.

So now for me, because I've personally tested it, I can confidently use Kleen Flo at least for 2 full years and the gas will be good enough to use.

Results may vary.
I used regular fuel.
I would be curious what would happen if you let that fuel sit in the vehicle or the lawnmower for 2 years. That is where the problems develop.

I did have a 1/4 tank in my Grand Am for a few years with stabilizer in it. Took it out of storage, added more fuel to it and then drove it to PG, then back to Terrace then down to Kelowna and back to PG. Not a problem at all.

I'm really impressed with Kleen Flo. I'm pretty confident in it now.

Whenever I buy a vehicle, I add a can of SeaFoam to the fuel tank. I don't know if it's ever done anything good or not.

Use it to start a bonfire.

Or dump a gallon or two at a time back in the tank with fresh.
Agree. Get some old pallets and a keg of beer and invite some friends over. I can send you some old pacemakers if you want to make things a little more exciting.

My wife's truck sat for 5 years with 3/4 tank. What was in it burned OK. Lots of odd misfires. It ended up being two full tanks of premium before it really ran right.

Do you know what you get when you mix 10 gallons of fresh gas with 1 gallon of bad gas???

You get 11 gallons of bad gas.

You get 11 gallons of bad gas.

Only if you eat at Taco Bell.

Whenever I have left a vehicle sit too long, I add a gallon or two of 110 octane Sunoco to the tank. I can get it at the same place I get 93 octane. That'll pep it right up!

DO NOT ..repeat.. DO NOT use old gas to start a fire. It will ignite almost instantaneously (explode).

And make a nice mushroom cloud!
Even better when using ether...
Wear ppe!

type of container....ethanol content....temperature swings and how it breathes or not breathes are key.

i had 55 gallons sealed and in temp controlled space with just polishing once a year for 4 years....works great. planning on having it lab tested.

the 55 gallon vented barrel out in the garage area not temperature controlled gains about a gallon of water per year and i will do the desiccant breather from now on... they are worth it.

oh....forgot....the unsealed gas can barely run the mower. mixed 50/50 it does fine... so i suspect polishing monthly or running the breather has to happen if fuel is stored where weather directly effects it.. that is for gasoline....

my used oil and diesel....does not seem to give a flying fat rats ass once polished.
