What tires you guys run on your Ranger?

Mastercraft usualy is the older tread designs from the Cooper line. They also make Starfire (not too common anymore) and something else but the name escapes me.

I heard rumor they were bought out by a big name tire company but I don't know that for sure. They make a good tire, and have their duds just like anyone else.

As far as the big name brands, a lot of them are owned by a few big tire names. Goodyear owns a good number or "smaller" brands as an example. I think Dunlop, Kelly, and Continental are examples but it's been a while since I dug into the subject. So, I could be misremembering things and things could have changed since then.

The OP hasn't been back since their first post. So, I guess we just get to entertain ourselves.

I put my 30s on yesterday. Basically the same size as the 235/75/15s but being mud terrains, they look cooler. They are mud claw extreme MTs. They look cool and are quiet enough on the road, so far. (Ha ha ha, one day of use)

My information is that Cooper is also owned by Goodyear.
Wikipedia says Cooper was purchased by Goodyear in 2021.

That's why we come here in the first place.

I just got new tires last Saturday. This time Mastercraft Courser Trail A/T's, Mastercraft is Cooper's bargain basement brand but they're good enough. Tread is similar to Falken Wildpeaks.
I had Cooper AT3's before but they wore out in 35k just like everything else I've had. Also they never seemed to balance right. Truck is much smoother now.
265/70-17's, slightly bigger than stock. I have a 1.5" Truxxx level but they fit fine before I put it on.

I've got the real Cooper bargain basement brand on mine. Starfire Solarus HTs. I actually really like them but mine's a road only commuter vehicle. Sidewall rigidity was impressive when I mounted them the old fashioned way. They have way better wet road traction than my previous Firestone Destination A/Ts ever had.

The best truck tires I have ever had are Michelin Defender LTX M/S. Excellent traction, last a long time, wear evenly, not noisy on the highway.

Really? I had a very poor experience on these tires.

Big fan of my Grabber ATx. In the winter I really enjoyed the Firestone Winterforce 2s. Cheap snows defeat the best "all"- season any day. Both available in 31"

I'm running Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. I would highly recommend them for anyone not looking to do ant serious offroading haha. They are super quiet on the highway. Did really well in the snow as well. But will get you stuck on slick mud everytime haha. The only 2 times I've had to use my winch has been since I put these on. I will be going back to a MT next time around.

You've done very well. Mine looked pretty tired when I first got it. Are you the only owner?
No, my uncle bought it from a used car dealer in austin tx and i bought it from him. It looked a lot nicer but 6 months ago, my youngest son borrowed it didnt really take care of it

My grandson is old enough to inherit my Ranger. I would gladly give it to him, all except he hasn't really learned how to take care of his own car just yet. For example, his check engine light just came on. He drove it that way for the longest time, then just left it parked out on the street.
