What the hell is this noise!

well... we can't pick one for you.
Oh I know. I’m just saying that it would be odd for them to both go out at the same time and they both sound the same with no play so it makes me wonder if that’s even the problem. I’ll probably just take it to the shop and get it diagnosed. Thanks for the help!

Well I put everything back on and drove it around for about 30 minutes including freeway and the noise hasn’t started again. Soooo uhh I don’t know.

Are you sure you didn't have loose lug nuts?

One thing is for sure... if something is going bad... it will get worse.

Definitely didn’t have a loose lug nut but yeah I’ll just have to wait until I hear it again and take it into a shop. I just don’t want to replace something that I don’t need to. It’s also odd that it usually only happens after I’ve been driving it for a while. I would imagine if it was a bad wheel bearing the noise would always be present. But I don’t know enough about bad wheel bearings.

I’ve had that exact noise on my 2wd ranger for years, I repack the front wheel bearing like once a year and it goes away.

A chirping that picks up with speed and goes away when turning.
