Any ideas? It doesn't have anything wrote on it. I'm guessing PA or alarm?

It's on a hinge type thing that slides up.

Random brownish wire that goes into the cab.

So......?

That's what I thought it was. But I discovered that this wasn't hooked to anything prior to my horn not working.

I would, but I don't have a wire easily ready to tap into
can I just like.. hook it to a battery? haha.

Hook it up to the battery, see if it does anything.

I think he's right, it does look more like a siren.

HES RIGHT

I just remembered I have an unused hookup to my battery I pushed the wire into it and got scared shitless!

Holy crap that's loud! I'm going to hook it to a switch ASAP to mess with people!

Yep; car alarm siren. Have fun with your new toy!

Just touching the two wires got every dog in the neighborhood barking. I wish I knew what this was years ago. :D

I need wire. It wont reach the location for my switch (there's already a hold there) so I can't exactly wire it up right now. I also need wire to go from the battery to the switch. Should I connect it to the fusebox instead?

don't forget to put your bail bondsman on your cell speed dial. you know your gonna need him sooner rather than later with your new toy. :icon_rofl:

No worries. I only plan on turning it on "for fun" once or twice. When no police are around. And never to "impersonate an officer." Committing felonies are not something I would like to do right now.

I would like to hook the alarm up exactly how a regular car alarm works. No idea how to do that though. I'll have to read up on it.

Technically, having the alarm installed and in use isn't a crime, because it is a car alarm. IF it were a siren, it would be illegal to use, but not to have installed. It's ONLY illegal if it is operational. Meaning, when the police officer inspects my vehicle to see if it is in fact, operational, I snip the wire under the dash going from the switch. :icon_thumby:

But I don't have a siren. I have an alarm.

I'll have to send out an email to the police station, or better yet call, before I install it all up to make sure on some of these facts.

I'm kind of tempted to become a State Trooper anyway. So committing crimes isn't something I want to do. I'd only need three more college credits (Providing that I pass my courses this year and next) to meet the minimum credit standard for the Academy. I'm considering taking First Aid, Welding, or some random police related classes for college credit if I end up not liking the whole being an electrician thing.

You'll need a control module to go with that siren. And the control box itself will have several wiring connections that need to be made.
