Found this on eBay this morning. Looks like a super early version of a Turbocharger, but I have no idea. Never seen anything like it.

Aircraft was a guess, as well as some sort of early turbo. The date on it is suspicious to me.

Last serviced in 1964... I'm gonna say it's an early helicopter/aircraft turbo or "turbine fan" for a turbo prop aircraft - but it could also be part of a cabin pressurization system.

It looks to be a fan, not a turbo. I don't see any electrical connections. although it's hard to tell. It appears to be rather old given the style of the model plate.

I'd guess it either sat in some air stream and pulled air in from that tube connection, or air flowing in that tube spun it up and pulled air through it.

It is just a fan, we have a similar one here at work. It is loud but moves a lot of air.

Air Research made a lot of turbos in the 60's/70's... that isn't one of them.
