5.0 does have the benefit of having been used in the Mustang. So performance and dress up parts are everywhere.
Had a 4.0 in my ranger filled up twice a week i only drive to work in the ranger droped the 5.0 in now fill up once a week as long as theres no hondas with big silly wings around

I pondered the same question myself before my swap. I decided that even the minimal fabrication needed for a 5.0 swap was beyond me at the time. (Motor mount plates and driveshafts..) Now I actually kinda regret it sometimes..
